Renaming AD computer accounts that are active CCM clients
Hey, I have a machine client01V in AD and it is registered in the SCCM database with the same name and is a managed client. If I rename the machine to client01-V it get updated in AD but does the new AD name get updated in SCCM when it next does a discovery? I've tested and it doesn't seem to but thought I may be doing something wrong and you guys may know a way to do it. Thanks Markl

Renaming computers has always seemed to wreak havok on SMS/SCCM. It will take a couple days for it to straighten itself out. It's easier to just reimage the box. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |

You can rename them it will just confuse SCCM for a little while. It will fix itself. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |

The name will be updated/changed in ConfigMgr after the next heartbeat DDR is sent to the site.
