By "SP Server" do you mean the only product called "SharePoint Server" i.e. SharePoint Server 2010 ? SP 2010 "FAQ" (mainly useful links): http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx WSS3/MOSS FAQ (FAQ and Links) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters

Can you tell me how did you renamed the Server ? I assume it in MOSS 2007 version Ideal way of renaming a server should be Rename a Computer: My Computer > Properties > Computer name > Change settings > Computer name >Change to a new name Do the changes in AAM: Central Admin > Operations > Global configuration > Alternative access mappings > [Click on the URLs and do the necessary changes] STSADM update: stsadmin -o renameserver -newservername <NewName> -oldservername <OldName> Host Entry Files Take care of host files to reflect the new change here %WINDIR%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts IIS level changes Ensure your IIS is reflecting the new URL Search Modify your new name to all required search content sources and search scopes Do an IISReset.
