Rename a BDP site system
What do I need to do if I need to rename a BDP site system? Do I need to remove the DP role from the current BDP site system then remove the site system and add it in again after renaming? I think this is a safe way but it will involve a lot of package assignments after remove and re-adding. Any better ways?

Stop advertisements that use packages stored in the DP, remove the DP from packages (soft dist node/packagename/Distribution point), remove the DP role and site system, rename the DP server, re-add the DP role, re-add packages to the DP and re-enable advertisements. Did you mean there is no better ways to rename a BDP? If this is the case I will re-think the renaming. Indeed, you don't have to remove the DP from individual packages. When you remove the DP role from the BDP site system the DP will be removed from all packages. However, there seems no quick way to add the BDP to many packages in one go.

You can use the copy package wizard, right click the packages "folder" in Software distribution node, choose Copy packages. Now you can add all the packages you want to distribute to you BDP.
