Removing SQL discoveries
I would like to remove SQL DB's that were discovered before we added overrides. Things like the AdventureWorks DB for example.
Ive tried running the Remove-DisabledMonitoringObject cmd but I still see the discovered objects.
any thoughts as to what im doing wrong?
Thanks

Hi Shetaug.
First you need to override and disable the Discovery, in this case its probably named
Discover Databases for a Database Engine and when that is done you run the
Remove-DisabledMonitoringObject in your OpsMgr-shell..mats.w | www.opsmode.com

they should be gone after the SQL DBEngine Discovery has been run which is set to run by default every 4 hours, unless you have overriden this.-
sorry I thought you were asking about removing instances, not databases. my bad..
have you cleared the console cache?

ok, so I've added the override, ran the Remove-DisabledMonitoringObject, the SQL DBEngine Discovery has run and I have deleted the console cache. Still see AdventureWorks in the console.....am I forever going to see these or is there something im missing/can
be done?

There is an option (override) on the SQL 200X DB discovery to exclude certain databases. Have you tried that?View OpsMgr tips and tricks at
