Removing Management Agents
We have a number of FIM 2010 development environments and are constantly adding and removing MAs. When an MA is created in the FIM Synchronization Service, corresponding ma-data and mv-data resouces are created in the FIM Service datastore according to the configuration of the FIM Service MA. When removing an MA, be sure to remove the ma-data object representing the MA from the FIM Portal UI. This will remove the ma-data object and the MA from the Sync Engine and ensure that FIM Service references are maintained. If anybody else has any info regarding this, please post it here. In my environment, when you remove an MA from the sync service, it is automatically removed from the ma-data structure in the portal. If this is not happening for you, I would look in FIM event log for events pertaining to sync service not able to contact FIM service. Having different versions of sync service and FIM service can cause this.
