Remove traces of old Device Center Driver Update from Windows 10

I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I then discovered in the Programs and Features page of the Control Panel an old "Windows Mobile Device Center Driver Update"(version 6.1.6965.0). When I select Uninstall, I get a pop-up window with the message: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that in unavailable" and it asks for the installation package 'drvupdate-amd64.msi'. I did find this package on the Microsoft download repository, and when I try to use it I get this very strange error message: "The file ...\drvupdate-amd64.msi is not a valid installation package for the product Windows Mobile Device Center Driver Update. Try to find the installation package 'drvupdate-amd64.msi' in a folder from which you can install Windows Mobile Device Center Driver Update."

Anybody has a solution?
