Remove Domain Controller

Hi

We have had a problem with one of our 2008R2 Domain Controllers and I am not able to recover Windows.

We have two other 2008R2 Domain Controllers - one of them holding the FSMO roles.

I would like to Forcibly Remove the failed DC from the network but am a little confused as to the process.

I have looked at the instructions to forcibly remove a DC but I am not able to enter DSRM.  I've also looked at this article with regards to cleaning up meta data from a forced removal but I am not able to forcibly remove the DC.

How should I remove the DC from my domain now that I cannot access it?

Simply do a metadata cleanup: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc816907%28v=ws.10%29.aspx

Hi Flanjman,

You must seize the FSMO role and then do metadata cleanup. Check the below links.
