Remove Deleted and NoDataSourceProtected Servers from the DPM SQL Database

Hello,

We are using DPM 2012 SP1 UR6 with SQL 2012 latest version.

ServerName      ClusterName                                     Domain                              ServerProtectionState
Filer                   filecluster.domainname.com              domainname.com                 Deleted
FILER                                                                          domainname.com                 HasDatasourcesProtected
FILER1                                                                        domainname.com                 Deleted
FILER2                                                                        domainname.com                 Deleted
FSG                   hvc.domainname.com                        domainname.com                 NoDataSourceProtected

1 - How do I clean up the SQL database for DPM so it does not show these old Servers that used to have Protection?
I want to remove the ones that show Deleted and NoDataSourceProtected out of the database.

There are many more than what I show listed here. DPMDB is over five years old.

2 - In addition, one of them shows a duplicate Protection name, with one deleted and the other one currently Protected (Filer and FILER).
The problem is when trying to Recover a file it points to the one that has been deleted (filecluster.domainname.com) and then fails when choosing "Recover to Original Location."

Type:    Disk recovery
Status:    Failed
Description:    DPM was unable to access the cluster resource group Filer.filecluster.domainname.com for H:\ of protection group Profiles and Documents. Recover the datasource using the alternate location workflow. (ID 32579)

Trying to find a way to correct this without having to remove the Protection and recreate.

Thank you,

Denise

I'd like to know this as well. DPM is probably the worst part of system center I've used.

i.e. Discovery data that never goes away? Like Denise, I have hundreds of computer objects that simply no longer exist in AD still in DPM with no way to remove them from view.

I have the same issue,

Around 30 deleted protected objects in DPM that no longer exist... and RemoveProductionServer doesn't work.

I'm also wondering how i can ever delete them from dpm. Although they aren't listed inside the GUI.
