Remove Admin Logon Account from view
I have set up a netbook with 2 accounts. One is the Computer Administrator Account (called admin) and the other is the shard users account. When i boot up my laptop it stops at teh Welcome screen and show both the admin and shared user accounts. I want it to boot automatically in to the shared user account. I thought by ticking the 'Remove the administrator user name' from the welcome screen (in Security Settings) it would work but both accounts are still showing ? Is it because the account is called admin and not administrator ? I've tried renaming the account to Administrator but it says it already exsists. I just want the Laptop to boot to the desktop screen of the shared account. Many thanks for your time.

· Hi, you can remove the user option from the logon screen by following steps: · Click start-----Run-----input “regedit” in blanks-----click OK In Registry Editor, find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList If the userlist keys you want to hide do not exist, create a DWORD registry value and name it as the name of user you want to hide. (for example: create a DWORD named user1). Set this value date to “0”, thus the user will hide on welcome screen. Note: You should better backup the registry before you want to change it. Hope it works. Regards, Leo HuangPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
