Remove 'Completed Approval' email notification from AuthZ workflow
Hi all, I am trying to work out whether it is possible to prevent one of the email notifications within an AuthZ workflow from being sent. When configuring the workflow, 4 of the 5 email notification selections are marked required. I attempted editing the xoml info to remove the one I want, but no dice. Also had a look at modifying the RCDC for this screen but couldn't see where this can be done. I'm not sure why these are even enforced in the first place? But I would like to turn off the 'Completed Approval (send to approvers)', so this email is not sent when the workflow runs. Thanks :)

Unfortunately the only way I can see that you could do this would be for you to override write and hook-up your own version of the UI for this activity, namely Microsoft.IdentityManagement.WebUI.Controls.ApprovalActivitySettingsPart ... the current implementation dictates SOMETHING will get sent to the approvers defined for that workflow. I know it's a crappy work-around, but you could set up your spam filter to match the generated email for this template I suppose :).Bob Bradley, www.unifysolutions.net (FIMBob?)

I suspected this might be the case. Doesn't matter, we will just work with the extra email for now. Possibly look at further customization later, but it's not an important enough issue to worry with that for now. Thanks :)

You might also consider a rule in Outlook to delete the email or move it to a folder out the way.
