I am running SCCM 2007 on VMWare 7. I am trying to deploy an image using OSD. But when I try boot my target machine, I get the message that it is waiting for approval from the WDS server. My setup is as follows: All of the systems are running on VMWare 7. ========================== DC - Windows 2003 SP2 R2 (64Bit) SQL - Windows 2003 SP2 R2 (64Bit) SCCM - Windows 2003 SP2 R2 (64Bit) Client - Windows X P SP3, and Windows 7 (SCCM captured images) - .wim files Under Admin tools, when I launch WDS and click on "Pending Devices" I get "The remote procedure call failed" message. In the eventvwr, I get a generic message that the service terminated unexpectedly. Event ID: 7031 Category: None Source: Service Control Manager Under "ConfigMgr Service Manager > Components > SMS_PXE_Service_Point" I am able to query "SMS_PXE_Service_Point" component, and it starts fine. I've tried to uninstall and re-install WDS, but that makes matters worse. There is no indication of PXE at all. The target machine just says, "OS not found". I am also running MDT 2010 HELP!!!! try configuring WDS and in the wizard, specify that it will respond to all (known and unknown) client computers , in addition verify that the For Unknown computers, notify administrator and respond after approval is UNCHECKED. cheers niall My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady

Niall, Thanks for the advise. I double checked and all those settings are correct (as you described). I think that the source of the problem is the RPC error message I described earlier in WDS. Any ideas on that? Thanks, Reggie
