Relaying Health Information from Different RMSs
Suppose I have sold an applications along with management pack to monitor the application. Suppose all the clients have installed the Essentials or MOM (preferably Essentials). Is it possible to gather some useful information from different companies' RMSs to an instance of MOM in the headquarter in a way that the client handle their own RMS but just specific application data will be relayed to our RMS. This is some how benefiting from SC alarming to act as a real-time event logger.YSobhdel

YOu can only send an alerts from one management group to another. Connected management groups: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb432147.aspx http://OpsMgr.ru/

Can't we just configure one server to act as a root management server in one domain and at as a simple management server in another? I mean in the client domain, it acts as RMS and in our corporation domain act as a limited management server which relays only the information about our application. Is it possible through development or is it supported right now? I think with the solution provided above, we need a gateway server to configure that, but yet I don't know if we can limit data to some applications.YSobhdel

Hi Question - "Can't we just configure one server to act as a root management server in one domain and at as a simple management server in another?" Answer - No. OpsMgr doesn't work like that. What you can do is have a single management group with an RMS \ Management Servers \ SQL Server(s) in your home forest. Then deploy gateway servers to each customer and monitor their environments within the single management group. You do need to be careful with security so that each customer only sees their data - using the /Site switch when you create the gateway server helps with this.
