Redirect after cancel or approve task

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know of a way to code in a URL redirect once a task has been approved or canceled? I am trying to edit the editform.apsx but I don't see my approve or cancel buttons in the code at all so I must be in the wrong place.

Thank you,

Eric

Hi Eric- you could do this with InfoPath. Have a button with the redirect and hide it. Add a rule so that if the field = approve or cancelled, show the button.

Hello Cameron,

Forgive my ignorance but I am not sure how to edit the editform.aspx in InfoPath. I am using SharePoint Online if that matters.

Thank you,

Eric

Hi Eric,

Are you using SharePoint 2010 workflow platform or SharePoint 2013 workflow platform?

If you are using 2010 platform, you can customize the InfoPath form via clicking Approval_xxxx_xxx.xsn under Forms like the screenshot:

Or, you can add ["%Current Task:Form_URN%]&Source=http://sharepoint/sitename" to the email notification body. After that, when the approver click the link in the email to approve, after approving, it will redirect to the source page.

However, if you are using 2013 platform, I am afaird there is no way to customize the task form and url. So, I suggest you use 2010 platform.

Best Regards,

Wendy
