Recycle Bin Not Emptying After 30 Days
Dear All We've been using SharePoint for almost 2 years now but today for the first time, I noticed a load of items in the recycle bin (both user level and site collection level) which date back from April 2008 onwards. I'm very concerned that because the recycle bin(s) are not emptying themselves, there's an enormous amount of extra bloat. I've checked the settings in Central Admin under Application Management for my web application and recycle bin is set to On and Delete items after 30 days is set. The second stage is set to 50% of our live quota. I read on the Microsoft website that regardless of the second stage, items should still be emptied after 30 days. Please can you help me? Many thanksDaniel

Curious issue. To b clear - is this what your settings for the recycle bin are: http://c1254372.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com Also- make sure that those settings are for the specific WEB application you are working on. This is set at the top of the Web APplication General Setting in Central Admin. I hope this helps and answers your question-Jeff DeVerter, MCSERackspaceblog:http://www.social-point.comtwitter: http://www.twitter.com/jdeverter
