Recurring Calendar Event Permission WSS 3.0
I have discovered an interesting problem with Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 with Search Server 2008 Express installed. I am looking for help with the problem. I have a SharePoint site created, not much customization done to the site, it is pretty much out of the box. On this site, I have a Company Calendar (out of the box calendar - no customization). The settings of the calendar are set so that Contribute Users (standard contribute permissions) can READ all items on the calendar. It is then set so that Contribute Users can EDIT/DELETE only their own items. Things appear to work correctly. If I create an item and someone else tries to edit the event, the page loads for them to make changes, however when they try to save the changes back, they get access denied. Perfect. With recurring events, it is a different story. When I create a recurring event (series) and someone else trys to EDIT SERIES, it brings up the form to edit the details. When they try to save...access denied. Also perfect. When the same user tries to EDIT ITEM from the recurring event, they get the form to edit details and then when they save the changes....it actually saves for that particular item from the series. They can also delete an individual item from a series. I have tried this on two different installs of SharePoint Services 3.0 and it is the same on both. Does anyone have any expirence with this problem or have a solution for me?
