Recovering SCCM site server from 1 month old vm snapshot???
Not sure if anyone has recovered their server using this approach, but curious what people have experienced. My SCCM server had lost most of the WMI. I ran some batch files and redetected the SCCM MOF files and the console came
back up.
Now I'm geting various issues with permissions and not sure what issues I'll be encountering in the future.
Anyone try a recovery via SCCM from a snapshot?

It's unsupported to recover from a VM backup. I'd maybe try it with one that was a day old but not a month old. You don't have a recent SCCM backup? If you do you may be able to revert to the snapshot then restore the backup.

The SCCM & FEP db is on a seperate SQL server.
WSUS is still on the box I'm considering reverting.

If SQL is remote, I wouldn't revert the VM! That is
COMPLETELY unsupported and will cause you issues!
IMO you only option is to start fresh! Otherwise call CSS and see what they can do for you. Best of luck.
You would have been in a lot better shape is SQL was local to the VM and it was a single site only. This is yet another reason
why I avoid remote SQL like the plague!

As Garth and John is saying, it's going to be a challange to fix the problem. I have had the same issue a few years ago and were able to to get the site working again. My best advice is to call CSS, they should be able to assist you. I wrote down my comments
in this blog - http://blog.coretech.dk/kea/the-serial-number-game/ None of the stuff in the post is supported.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

Has c_kubie said he doesn't have an SCCM backup? If so I somehow missed it.

I have a backup and the SCCM server is working reasonably ok.
This idea was a contingency plan if more issue developed.

Just to be clear, you have a CM07 backup, created by the CM07 Backup task?
It this is the case then just re-store the site using the CM07 backup, following the normal restore tasks.
BTW I always recommend that you call CSS when doing a restore, mostly just in case.
