Reassign client to new site
Our SCCM 2007 test hierachy is currently not published to AD because we already have a SMS 2003 production site published there so we manually exchange the keys between site instead to establish site to site communication. We would like to attach some of the clients that currently point to SMS 2003 production to test hierachy for testing. What is the best way to reassign some of these clients to the new primary site on the test hierachy? These clients are already on the lastest client version, it's just that after the client upgrade, they still point to the production site. Shall I just simply change the site code or do I have to reinstall the client specifying the server locator point and the site code of the new primary site?

It depends on how you are upgrading the client. If you have the site code or Auto it should install to that site. If you aren't seeing it then you do a manual change but obviously this won't work for production for many machines. What is your install string to upgrade the clients? What method are you using to push the 2007 client to the 2003 machine?http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com

I initiated a client repair on a handful of test clients to reassign it to a different primary site with the following command line and it worked: x:\ccmsetup.exe /noservice smssitecode=code SMSSLP=server path resetkeyinformation=true
