I'm doing a test package whichreads a flat file, makes an adjustment using the derived column task and writes to the same flat file. But, the read locks the flat file, so the write can't access it. Any ideas for a resolution? Thanks,Dave

one possible solution: Write to a temp. file, delete the original file when transfer is complete, rename the temp file to the original file name Frank
