Is it possible a backup tape recorded by DPM be read by other backup software like BACKUP EXE ? And restore data ?

In theory that could be possible because DPM uses the Microsoft Tape Formal (MTF) for tape backups. However, the MTF specification is a loose specification and can be implemented differently between vendors.  I know that DPM will not read other vendors tapes even if they are in MTF format, so it would really depend on Backup Exec code if it will read DPM written tapes.  I do not know one way or the other. If you find out, please update this post.
