Re-naming a top link tab
Hi - hope someone can help. On our old WSS site, I could go into top link section and re-name the tabs. We've now moved to SP MOSS on a cloud. Under look and feel, there is "Navigation" but no more "top links." I clicked on the title and description of the site to change the name, and was hoping it would change the top link name as well, but it doesn't. If I do it this way, it changes everything, including the top link, the name of the site next to the logo, and the breadcrumb at the very top in red section. I have a screen shot here for you to see: http://prosol1.com/sharepoint/forum_images/rename_home.jpg Hope someone can tell me how to re-name the circled top link name in MOSS/cloud. Thanks.Mike Walton

Hi Mike, You need to go to Site Actions > Site Settings and choose "Title, Description and icon" under the "look and feel" section. That tab uses whatever you have in the "Title". Steph

I did but it doesn't fix it in MOSS. If I do what you describe above, it changes everything, unlike in WSS. See more images: http://prosol1.com/sharepoint/forum_images/moss.jpg http://prosol1.com/sharepoint/forum_images/wss.jpg Mike Walton

This is as expected. In order to separate the two, you would likely need to modify the master page.

But I don't understand why it can easily be done in WSS but not MOSS? It just doesn't make sense to me.Mike Walton
