Rating a SharePoint page is checking-out a page, does anyone have a suggestion on how to handle this?

Hi all, 

When we are rating a page, the page is getting checked-out. Has anyone faced this issue before?

Any workarounds?

Hi,

In my environment, the page is not getting checked-out when rating it is still in check in status.

I suggest you can try to check if another user is also editing the page when rating. Also I suggest you can create a new site and test if the page will be checked out when rating.

Thanks for your response Jerry. I will check this with a visitor account. 

However, to give you a background on this, I believe the AverageRating control in SharePoint is running into issue for European languages such as FR, PT, ES for the 2.5, 3.5, etc where decimal needs a replacement with comma

Hence, I followed the recommendation as per the blog article here:

After this change, it is checking out the page.
