RWW cannot connect internal website

Hi

I'm trying to setup RWW on SBS 2008 FE and I was hoping someone could provide me with a how-to  to manually setup the internet domain name I've attempted to use the wizard but it will not seem to allow me to use my domain name.

I've managed to setup RWW and install the appropriate SSL certs and It all appears to work ok until I attempt to access the internal website. When I attempt to login to the internal website from RWW site at  remote.mydomain.com:987 I get prompted with a windows login which is fine when I login successful it redirects to https://sites:987 which is the internal site  I'm assuming this is because I haven't setup the internet domain name through the wizard is there anyway to fix this.

any help would appreciated

regards

Andrew

Hi Andrew:

When I attempt to login to the internal website from RWW site at  remote.mydomain.com:987 I get prompted with a windows login which is fine when I login successful it redirects to https://sites:987 which is the internal site

Can you clarify the above please?  If you are attempting to connect to the internal site and you DO connect to the internal site I can't understand the problem.

The wizard takes care of all the details.  The only thing you may need to do manually is to forward the required ports from the edge firewall/router to the IP of the SBS server.

Then from outside the LAN/building https://remote.domain.tld should get you to the web page.  Entering your domain credentials should get you to the "selection page" where you can choose the next step.

Does that part work correctly?

Here is the TechNet article for SBS 2008 and RWW/routers:

Thanks again Larry

I can connect fine to the RWW webpage and even access RDP but when I click on the internal website link

it redirects to https://my.domain.com:987 which requests authentication again which is no problem but on success it  attempts to redirect me to https://sites:987. As https://sites is only registered as an internal DSN name it fails. I'm assuming I need to set the external domain name some where or tweak an ISS binding

Thanks for the link I'll check it out

cheers
