RS email with wrong subject line .
Hi All, I'm not receiving any emails from RS from last couple of days, So I restarted the RS. Now I'm receiving the emails, but the problem is I'm receiving the reports with old subject name, though the report was new. I checked the subscriptions everything looks fine. Also I changed TO address in the subscriptions but still receiving email to old email address with the wrong subject line(eg: Report executed on 11/12/2010 @3.45pm; though I executed today 11/15). I'm using SSRS2005. Do you have any idea about it?? Thanks SK

Hi SK, When we define a subscription in a report server, the report server will process the subscription in this way: Start a job to create an event. The report server responds to events that it monitors on an ongoing basis. When an event occurs that matches the conditions defined for a subscription, the report server reads the subscription to determine how to process and deliver the report. The report server requests the delivery extension that is specified in the subscription. After the delivery extension is running, the report server extracts delivery information from the subscription and passes it to the delivery extension for processing. In fact, when a job is fired, an event will be recorded in table named Event in the Report Server catalog database. The report server monitors the table, and then fire process the event. In this case, the issue may be due to old events are not processed correctly. When we restart the report server, the report server get the events, and processes them again. To verify it, please open the report server catalog database with SQL Server Management Studio(SSMS), and then open the ReportServer database, check if there are records in the Event table(By default, it should be null). Go back to our original issue "why we didn't get mail?", it may be due the report server is out off service, or it is hang and unable to process the subscription. So, to solve the issue, please check the report server error log, and check if there is any error occurred in the server. To avoid the old mails, please turncate the Event table.
