RMS Monitoring in SCOM 2007 R2
What are some best practices when it comes to monitoring the Root Management Server in SCOM 2007 R2? Is there a best way to monitor the RMS and/or helpful approaches?

Well you can use scom itself of course to check in the Operations Manager management pack to check for state and alerts. most occur there. But it is possible that you want to monitor for a loss of the main services of the rms and that would be a bit hard to detect. (as the alerts get sent by the rms). But there are ways to geta round it. For instance check out this one: http://systemcenter.pinpoint.microsoft.com/en-US/applications/self-monitoring-management-pack-for-microsoft-scom-12884906842 Bob Cornelissen - BICTT (My BICTT Blog)
