READ ONLY MODE

HI GUYS, IM RUNNING A CAS AND A PRIMARY SITE. THIS WORKED FINE UNTIL ONE DAY I HAD TO MIGRATE THE VM'S TO A DIFFERENT HOST ON VSPHERE AND PUT THEM ON A DIFFERENT VLAN. SINCE THEN TH PRIMARY SITE HAS BEEN IN READ ONLY MODE.

ANY SUGGESTION WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED

Have you flushed your DNS cache on all the systems that were migrated? It sounds like you're in read-only mode why the replication completes, which it never will if the servers can't find each other. (ipconfig /flushdns from an elevated command prompt).

Otherwise I'd say to check out the rcmctrl.log file and look for clues. Niall Brady also has some good troubleshooting suggestions here

Hey Todd,

Thanks for the link to Neil Brady's log. After looking at my sql ERRORLOG it appears that the login to sql is failing with my credentials. The DB seems to be working fine but CM cannot communicate with the DB. I have always used these credentials, and did not have any issues before.

The error that is being displayed is Error 18456 Sev 14 State 38

Yes, I know this is an old post, but Im trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?

Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) as they can work with you to solve this problem.
