RD Licensing Diagnoser warning

I am getting a warning when running RD Licensing Diagnoser. The same warning occurs on three servers (one is a gateway and session host, one is a session host only, and one is a gateway and licensing manager). The warning is: The Remote Desktop Session Host server is in Per User licensing mode and No Redirector Mode, but license server [servername] does not have any installed licenses with the following attributes:

Product version: Windows Server 2012

Licensing mode: Per User

License type: RDS CALs.

That server DOES have 28 RDS User CALs installed, although none are available because they've all been issued to my users.

Why am I getting this warning, and do I need to worry about it if I have enough CALs for all users? I know that per user licensing is not enforced and my users will not be prevented from connecting for that reason.

Hi David,

Initially check whether there is no any License Configuration related warnings or error {it must be properly configured}. The License Server should be part of Terminal Server License group in Active Directory Domain Services. After this if you rerun the diagnoser on rdsh server then you can see that the server can now see the License server CAL type.

Please go through below article carefully for details.

In addition, you can try below hotfix might help in your case.
No RDS license when you connect to an RDS farm in Windows Server 2012

Apart for a try, you can also do other thing; can rebuilt the license server within RDS Licensing manager by right clicking the server and manage license option. Once you delete all the license on the server after that you can reinstall and see your licenses are available.

Hope it helps!

Thanks.
