Quick simple question with regards to backup of SCVMM and HyperV clusters

I tried to make a protection group to backup my VMs, I was expecting to find the SCVMM "machine" (cluster object) in the machine list, but I did not... (that's what we used in another scenario with Veeam).

Do I add the cluster object from the machine(s) running the SCVMM service? Or/And do I add all the HyperV hosts manually?

For my previous experience with VM backups (Veeam) we just installed the VMM console on the backup server, and "added" the VMM "server" to the backup software (which then installed proxies on all the hosts).

(This current cluster runs SQL and VMM on two nodes).

If I understand your question, you will need to deploy the DPM agent to your Hyper-V hosts and any other physical cluster nodes you have.  DPM will identify the cluster and cluster objects.
