Quick Parts Word 2010 and Sharepoint 2007
I created a template which includes building block quick parts embedded in the template rather than the separate Building blocks.dotx template. I have now uploaded this as a content type in sharepoint 2007. My site also includes some server properties i have defined in site content type columns. I want to insert these into the template by editing the template in Site Content Type > Edit Template and in the template using Quick Parts > Document Property but the Document Property list is disabled. Is this something to do with the way i have included Quick Parts in Word? Is there a better way to achieve my objectives?

Hi , Sometimes even though the word document is saved with the .dotx extension, it does not necessarily mean that you can use the integration features with SharePoint 2007, such as Quick Parts. It is in the compatibility mode and you cannot using quick parts >document property . But in word2010 ,it will not show ‘Compatibility Mode’ behind the document title .You should convert it by doing: Click on File> Info>Convert .The convert option will only appear if the document is running in compatibility mode . For more information ,please refer to this site: Can't get the Quick Parts to display Document Properties in Word : http://sharepointspot.blogspot.com/2008/10/can-get-quick-parts-to-display-document.html Microsoft Word 2010 Compatibility Mode: http://www.word-2010.com/microsoft-word-2010-compatibility-mode/ Thanks,Entan Ming
