Question on removing secondary site
We have an office thats going to close within the next month that has a secondary site installed in it. I'm looking to confirm the proper way of removing this site from the hierarchy completely, the site is going away and is not needed for anything else. From the posts I've seen, it looks like I should do a site deinstallation instead of a site deletion. If I do the site deinstallation, is there anything I need to do on the Central site? Will I still need to run the preinst.exe tool on the central site? I'm getting stuck on why one would run a site deletion vs. a site deinstallation. My initial though is that you'd run a site deleteion on a server that was dead, whereas you'd run a site deinstallation on a site that was up and functioning. Do I have the correct idea here?

Hi, 1) Remove all the packages from the secondary site server DP and PXE service point. You can use DP utility to assists you - http://www.myitforum.com/inc/arts/12171Setup.zip 2) Move any boundaries to a new site 3) Perform un uninstall and wait for the process to finish. 4) Perform house cleanup with preinst.exe - but only if needed.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund
