Question about USMT

We have a 200TB isilon for file storage with a much faster network connection and hdd speeds than the vm's running our SCCM environment; I was wondering if I could leverage this for USMT?

I have created a symbolic link from a network share to c:\usm on my State Migration Point, I was hoping that it would think this was a local drive and this would work seamlessly. But the usmt always fails now..

Has anyone tried anything like this or know if this would be possible?

Well you could use the USMT with a UNC path take a look at the following article.

This should help you get started.
