Query on SCCM collections and Client push method?

Team,

SCCM 2007

In my setup, i have created the collection in the below way

- Active clients - Limited to Workstations and Professional systems

- All active clients - Unlimited

- All non- clients - unlimited

I have done the client push method on "All non-clients collection" and finished the wizard. Then, i noticed that All non clients are not limited and it will query all the collections including servers. So, again i have changed the collection query to Limited to Workstations and Professional systems for All non-clients.

Am i doing right here? how the effect will take?

Also, will this client install method require a reboot.?

Please help?

Regards, Dev

You should check if the query for the "Active clients - Limited to Workstations and Professional systems" are correct.

Hi,

  1. Only the machines/servers whichever received the Client push policy while residing under 'All-Non Clients collection' will initiate the client installation on them (provided all pre-requisites satisfies). You can check CCM.log from SCCM server for Client push status and CCMSETUP.log from client machine for installation status.
  2. SCCM Client installation does not require a reboot.
