Query Database MDAC issue

Hi,

Recently I am encountering an mdac issue when executing the Query Database. It does not happen all the time. Here is the error:

"Fatal Error Database error has occurred. Fatal error has occured. Please ensure that you have the latest MDAC installed which can be found on the installation cd."

Ive tried researching on the issue here is what I already tried:

  • installed ng sql server native client 10.0
  • remove the old version of sql native ver 2005
  • Installed the ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server version 2011.110.2270.00

Here are the other details of the servers:

  • Opalis Server: Windows 2008 r2 64bit sp1
  • Opalis Server: Opalis 6.3
  • Database server: Windows 2008 r2 64bit sp1
  • Database server: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (RTM) - 10.50.1600.1 (X64) Apr 2 2010 15:48:46 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)

Hi,

I've seen this error in an Orchestrator thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/scogeneral/thread/7cc533aa-e36f-43a1-8ca7-75dc4727c0ca/

I don't know why, but it was solved  by "reentering the username & password for the Orchestrator Runbook Service an restart the service ...."

Hi Stephan,

We have applied the steps and before that we have applied the latest patch of SQL and after 2 day the issue occur again. This is really weird our SQL drivers are all updated. Additional steps we did was to install and uninstall the integ pack and the action servers. We are also experiencing some issues on other objects such as web invoke, run.net and run programs.

These issues are intemittent, can you help us on where to start on troubleshooting this error?

Hi Stefan,

Ive seen that but is that also applicable to opalis 6.3? Cause the link is for orchestrator.

Herwin
