Query - Internet Explorer Version less than 8
Hi, our manager would like to know all PC's that do not have IE8 on them. I did a query that said where file name is equal to iexplore.exe and file version is less than 8. The problem is that for some reason other versions of iexplore exist on the machines as well (must be some weird MS thing :-) IE 6 does not show in the add and remove programs but the version that is installed can be shown in the registry here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer How can I do a search on this as I cannot think of another way to do it? Thanks

Hi, You can use this guide to get the IE information into the database http://scug.dk/blogs/configurationmanager/archive/2009/10/21/how-to-get-registry-information-into-hardware-inventory.aspx Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products

A subset query would be the easiest way to find them. http://tinyurl.com/23ngothttp://www.enhansoft.com/

Thanks Garth but when I paste it in it has a syntax error Also, Kent, how long does it take before the info is available in the database? I ran a hardware refresh policy on my PC and I can see it in the logs but when I use Resource Explorer on my PC it does not display. I made the changes to the .mof files on the central hub site and not on the primary site for this location. I checked the .mof files on the primary site and they have not changed. How does that work exactly? Do the changes to the .mof files need to be made on every one of our site servers then?

Anyone have any ideas? Kent?

You need to manually change the mof file on each site server, it does not happen automaticly.http://www.enhansoft.com/

Many thanks BTW - how long until it should show up. I added it to my primary site server 30 mins ago and then did a hardware inventory on my pc, then checked resource explorer but nothing?
