Put new users in specific OUs with FIM?
Hello! We are wondering, if it is possible to customize FIM in a way, that a new user, depending on how he is ordered vie the FIM portal will be put into a specific OU. We would like to use the FIM portal to create service accounts and administrative accounts for applications. These applications have separate OUs and in these OUs we have OUs for service and administraive accounts related to a specific application. Now we would like FIM to put a new user which is being requested via the portal into to OU for users for this application, so the application must be part of the request and FIM must be able to put the user where we want to. Unfortunately we can only find references how to create a new OU where FIM puts all FIM objects. But there is no description, how to customize it like we want to. Does anybody have an idea how we could get this to work? Thanks to everybody in advance who may have an idea. Best regards Peter

Peter, WHen you configure your outbound sync rule in the portal, you can always test for certain values that are present in the string (using IIF), that way, you can populate the organizationalUnit with the appropriate value. Paul.Paul Loonen (Avanade) | MCM: Directory 2008 | MVP: ILM
