Published links in Office 2010
Hello All, Client: Windows 7 x64 MOSS 2007 Office 2010 I set up MOSS 2007 to publish links via audiences so that the users could click on My Sharepoint Sites in the save/open dialog boxes and this worked fine with Office 2007 & XP/Vista clients however I have just got a new PC with Windows 7 and Office 2010 and its not working. I know that with Office 2010 you can know use the Save & Send/Save to Sharepoint but even so the only sites listed are the recent locations and not the published link locations. On Office 2007 I just made sure that the LinkPublishingTimeStamp registry key was there but this isn't working on this PC. Is this a Windows 7 or Office 2010 thing and does anyone know how to get this to work? Thanks in advance Ian

Do you have Office 2010 64 bit? If you do, that may be the problem. There are many published problems with 64 bit Office and it's interaction with SharePoint, so much so that Microsoft recommends you stick with 32 bit Office instead. The major issue is the Active X interaction between SharePoint and Office and the fact that it doesn't work reliably and consistently. The published save locations is more probably an Active X control which leads me to believe this to be your problem. If you do have 64 bit Office installed, I would try installing 32 bit Office and see if it resolves your problem.I trust that answers your question... Thanks C http://www.cjvandyk.com/blog

Thanks, I do have Office 64 bit and tried your advice in a virtual PC, still runnng Windows 7 x64 and still didn't get the My Sharepoint Sites. I think the problem lies in where in Vista/XP when accessing my MOSS My Site you were asked if you wanted to sync Office, which creates the required reg keys and I'm not getting this in Windows 7. I will try this Windows 7 x86 and see if I get the same problem there. Thanks for taking the time to investigate Ian http://iandwilliams.blogspot.com/

Hi, Office 2010 is missing some registry keys to interface with MOSS 2007 for this functionality. Try this workaround. Office 2010 x64 ============== Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{E7339A62-0E31-4A5E-BA3D-F2FEDFBF8BE5}] @="PersonalSite Class" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{E7339A62-0E31-4A5E-BA3D-F2FEDFBF8BE5}\InprocServer32] @="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Common Files\\Microsoft Shared\\Portal\\PortalConnectCore.dll" "ThreadingModel"="Apartment" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{E7339A62-0E31-4A5E-BA3D-F2FEDFBF8BE5}\ProgID] @="PortalConnect14.PersonalSite.1" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{E7339A62-0E31-4A5E-BA3D-F2FEDFBF8BE5}\Programmable] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{E7339A62-0E31-4A5E-BA3D-F2FEDFBF8BE5}\TypeLib] @="{CA973FCA-E9C3-4B24-B864-7218FC1DA7BA}" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{E7339A62-0E31-4A5E-BA3D-F2FEDFBF8BE5}\VersionIndependentProgID] @="PortalConnect14.PersonalSite" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite] @="PersonalSite Class" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite\CLSID] @="{E7339A62-0E31-4A5E-BA3D-F2FEDFBF8BE5}" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite\CurVer] @="PortalConnect12.PersonalSite.1" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite.1] @="PersonalSite Class" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite.1\CLSID] @="{E7339A62-0E31-4A5E-BA3D-F2FEDFBF8BE5}" ========================== Office 2010 x86 ========================== Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite] @="PersonalSite Class" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite\CLSID] @="{E7339A62-0E31-4A5E-BA3D-F2FEDFBF8BE5}" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite\CurVer] @="PortalConnect12.PersonalSite.1" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite.1] @="PersonalSite Class" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite.1\CLSID] @="{E7339A62-0E31-4A5E-BA3D-F2FEDFBF8BE5}"Regards, Savoeurn Va Microsoft Online Community Support

Hi Savoeurn, That worked a treat for Office 2010 x86, but no joy with the 2010 x64. Your obviously spot on with the solution just wonder if there is one thing missing. Thanks Ian http://iandwilliams.blogspot.com/

Hi Savoeurn, I apologise as looking at the registry keys again I missed off the last key, after redoing that it worked beautifully. Thanks
