Provision a resource from the console
Hi,I m new to FIM I need to provision users in Oracle DB, but i need to do it from the FIM portal. i.e. the admin signs in, selects the user and assigns it the resource(Oracle DB in this case)..the provisioning to that resource happens automatically...But i cannot see any option in the console to add applications, which i can select to be assigned to the user.Any pointers will be helpfullthnx

How to get objects out to a connected data source is covered in the introduction to outbound synchronization. Not sure,I understand what youmean by "adding applications".If this is about defining a provisioning target, you can use the Set concept. This means, you could configure your environment to provision objects to Oracle if they are a member of a specific Set.Cheers,MarkusMarkus Vilcinskas, Knowledge Engineer, Microsoft Corporation

by adding an application i mean, being able to select Oracle Db for a user from the console. I don't know if this feature is supported by FIM. I need to log in to the console, select a user and assign Oracle to it from the console itself. So basically i want the admin to see the list of available resources(Oracle, AD etc) , select one..and then the provisioning to happen....

Deborah, the simplest method to accomplish this is to create Sets for your available provisioning targets. For a given data source, such as your Oracle dB, you could create a Set and configure FIM to provision the members of this set to the associated target.Cheers,MarkusMarkus Vilcinskas, Knowledge Engineer, Microsoft Corporation
