Protection for PDF files

Hi Team,

As we can protect office documents using restrict access> connect to IRM>Restricted access, can we do same for pdf  documents.

I mean we need document protection without any password, so that once people move out of AD group there access also gets removed.

Hi Amit,

IRM supports Office documents and PDF files. PDF readers can register a control to allow simple opening of PDF files, and PDF documents can be protected with Microsoft IRM services. IRM protection of PDF documents is an extension of the PDF standard, which PDF readers can implement and support.

Hi Wendy,

I need document protection at source as we have for office document as File>Protect document>Restrict Access.

Can we have same dome here. We don't want to install anythinh new.

Amit, you're going to have to install the extension. This isn't available OOTB. Moving to FoxIt is probably your best bet:

Gigatrust also has an extension for Adobe Acrobat:
