We have a library item that will not "allow" one of the column metadata properties to be set. The column is of type choice (multi-choice). This issue appears to be only related to this one document. When trying to edit the document properties from inside of the document itself (Word 2010), we get error message "The item cannot be inserted". The error details shows: '{f390d491-79a0-478c-8faf-71f6bf02a837}Value' is in nil content: <{f390d491-79a0-478c-8faf-71f6bf02a837}Artifact_x0020_Type>. Anyone have any ideas what the issue might be and how to fix?There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what you're are trying to accomplish.

I was not able to figure out the issue, but I did create a "fix" for this document. I copied the offending document (DocA) onto my desktop. Also, on my desktop, I created a TestDocument.docx and uploaded it to the library. I set the document properties on TestDocument.docx. I opened up TestDocument from the library and DocA on my desktop. I copied the contents of DocA into TestDocument. I saved TestDocument.docx and closed both documents. It worked. TestDocument.docx has the contents of the document that woldn't accept the property. Now I deleted the old DocA from the library and renamed TestDocument. Any ideas why this one doc wouldn't take the property assignment?There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what you're are trying to accomplish.
