Proper way to delete an MA and Connector space information from FIM 2010
We have an old MA that we are no longer using. What would be the best way for me to delete it and remove anything to do with it from the metaverse? I am kind of new to FIM so this may be a silly question. Should I just right click and delte? I see an option
to delete management agent and connector space. I think this what I should do but would like some to confirm. Also would this shrink my DB or would I have to do a defrag to reclaim whitespace (like in exchange)
Thanks
Joe

You are correct. Right-click and delete. There are two options when you do this, the first "delete connector space" will only remove all data but keep the ma and the configuration. The second option "delete management agent" will delete the data and the
ma with its configuration.

Be careful if you have any Metaverse deletion rules tied to the MA to be deleted, it may intiate deletion of MV objects and deprovisioning of connectors.Eric

Thanks for the information guys. Should I expect to see my database size decrease with this? I am removing about 3 million objects from the connector space. My SQL DB is about 200 GB.

Is deleting the connector space irreversible? I.E if you're having issues with imports from FIM to MV, could deleting the connector space help? Would it be repopulated when you ran the MA again? Or is it a big no-no?
