I have set up our PMO in SharePoint so that each project is a sub-site of the main PMO site; each sub-site (project) is created using a site template.

What I would like to have is an indicator on each sub-site (project) that shows the status of the project as a whole not just the individual tasks of an associated task list. For example the project status' would be Draft, In Progress, Completed, Archived. The status would be an attribute of the project.

Is this possibe?

For this requirement, you can try to add several milestones in each project, and then in the main page of the sub site, create JavaScript to show indicator as you required.
