Program Rerun Behavior

I am interested to know if there is any detailed information on program Rerun behavior with regards to migrating package/advertisements to ConfigMgr 2012? In my testing it seems that advertisements with program rerun behavior configured for Always Rerun seem to rerun after the SCCM client has been upgraded to SCCM 2012. I can verify that the program had successfully run when it was in the 2007 environment. It's my understanding that these should not rerun as the client GUID and program Ids are maintained during client upgrade.

Advertisements with program rerun behavior configured with other options do not appear to run after the SCCM client has been upgraded.

Is there any correlation to this setting and post migration of client and packages/advertisements, or am I seeing a symptom of something else?

Thanks.

As an update, I have been trying to determine why advertisements are rerunning. Not all, but the only correlation I have seen is that the ones rerunning are configured to have the program Always Rerun.

For the ones that are rerunning, and have the program rerun behavior set to "Always Rerun", I am seeing the following in  the execmgr.log for each of these advertisements:
"Creating mandatory request for advert XXXXXX"

As a test, I changed the rerun behavior for a few of the advertisements to:
"ReRun only if previously failed".

Now I am seeing this for the changed advertisement in execmgr.log:
"The program XXXXXXXX will not run because it has been run before and it succeeded and policy indicates it should rerun only if it has previously failed", and these are not rerunning any longer.

I still think the rerun behavior setting impacts the adverts during migration. My theory is that, "Always Rerun" will trigger a rerun with the migrated client, unless I am missing something somewhere.

We are experiencing the same behavior.  I'm trying to find a way to report on all deployments set to "always rerun program" so that they can be changed.

I have looked through the docs, and can't find that documented. However, I seem to recall that would be the scenario if the advertisement was set to Always Rerun.
