Profile isn't updating entirely
So, I have something really odd going on with a user (might be more but no one else has reported it so far).My install is MOSS 2007 SP2 with SQL 2005 backend. We only have 1 WFE in addition to the SQL server, no other servers in that farm. We also have everything tied to an AD, which is where our accounts are stored. For site setup, we have a main site collection (TLS)at http://intranet Then we have additional site collections under managed paths for each of our divisions so they become http://intranet/division.For permissions, we have all authenticated users added to the main site (readonly)and then have different permissions for the other site collections. My problem comes in where we rename AD accounts (marriage, divorce, moving to a different diviion) and/or change the info on them. Despite deleting that user in the profiles and re-running the full import, it still shows the old info on the main http://intranet site. It also does not give an option to edit her info on that site if you go into My Settings. If I look in the profiles all the correct info shows up as pulled from the AD.However, if she goes into a different site collection under the managed paths, that she has permissions to, she can update her info but it still does not translate/carryover to the TLS.While this is not an earth-shattering issue, it's something I would really like to be able to fix. Has anyone else encountered this? Any solutions that anyone knows of? :)I've tried to add as much detail as possible and hope I haven't rambled too much.TIA,Veronica Harris

Do you have the profile import set up in your Shared Service Provider. I had a similar issue and this solved it.

treinacles:"Despite deleting that user in the profiles and re-running the full import, it still shows the old info on the main http://intranet site." So yes, I do have a profile import set up and I've even forced it manually.LuZou:I will try those suggestions today. I believe we tried the My Settings but it's not working on the TLS. Thank you very much for replying and I will let you know if it works.

Hi Veronica, It seems that you didnt use the correct scheduling format. You can try to use the command line below: Stsadsm o sync synctiming m:5 Note: It means that the schedule for the Profile Sync job to run is every five minutes. The default value is 1 hour. If you want to set it back to 1 hour, you need to run the command line again. Then run this command line: Stsadsm o sync sweeptiming m:1 If this doesnt work, try to use the stsadm -o sync -listolddatabases <n>andstsadm -o sync -deleteolddatabases<n> commands. Note that you need to specify the number of days. After running the two command, run the two sync commands above. Please refer to the link below for the command syntax: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263196.aspx Hope this helps. Lu Zou

I realize this is an old thread but I thought I'd post the actual solution, just in case anyone else runs into the same issue. We've just spent 4 weeks on and off with SharePoint Tech Support (MS) and it turned out to be a silly simple solution. When we created our environment, we set all of our content DBs to offline after creating a site in it (1 site per content DB). We were told we could leave them offline and it would not impact anything. Well, it does. Unless the DB is set to Ready, the final push/sync will not happen all the way down to the UserInfo table in the content DB. The MOSS and WSS profiles will both show correctly, but the information displayed in a group on the site itself will be incorrect. Thanks! Veronica
