Profile information not correct
I have a situation where a user has changed their last name, login name and also email address in Active Directory. We are using MOSS 2007 and she is able to login ok but she is being welcomed with her old name and her old email address. I have tried using stsadm -o sync, changing the sync timer jobs and i have deleted her profile. nothing has worked so far. Does anybody have any other suggestions or guesses about how to fix this!

Hi, Can you check the SSP if the User information is updated or not? There is a similar thread, can you check if it helps http://www.sharepointdev.net/sharepoint--setup-upgrade-administration-operation/user-profile-information-is-not-reflecting-in-sharepoint-site-from-ssp-7387.shtml Thanks, Skancharla

When i view the user profile in the SSP all of the information is correct. when i go to site settings - advanced permissions - add user and search for the user the old out of date user name and email show up. All of the answers i have seen regarding this issue address the profile in the ssp having incorrect information not when i try to add the user. On a test system i went to userinfo table and changed the value in the tp_Title column and this did not have an effect on the user information when trying to add a user!

hmmm, if you only changed the last name and email address than SharePoint will not pick that up. it will look at the Dispaly Name Attribute. I have duplicated what you are seeing in my sharepoint environment by only changing the last name and email address. the people picker only shows the original name because the Display name was not changed. Can you provide more detail on how this account name was modified? What attributes have changed? We know that the Last name and email have changed, but what about the logon name, Display name?Tony Parker, MSCE . MCTP. MCITP "Anything worth doing, is worth doing right"
