Problems with USMT 4.0 save and restore
My environment is SCCM 2007 SP2 with R2 and MDT 2010 integration. I am performing XP to Win7 migrations. I am not currently using an SMP because of various reasons but am instead running usmt save and restore from the command-line. For my save and restore, I use /ue:%computername%\* to exclude all local accounts. However, lately admins have had some restores fail. The log says that (The account computername1\username is chosen for migration, but the target does not have account computername2\username. See documentation on /lac, /lae, /ui, /ue and /uel options.) I spoke with the admins and was able to reproduce the error using their method of migration. Below are the steps they run. My confusion comes in that by using /ue:%computername%\* in the save and restore, it should not be migrating the local account and changing the computer name should not be an issue. Am I missing something? Thank you for any assistance. Steps to reproduce 1. Run save on the computer 2. Rename the computer 3. Run restore on the computer (now with a new name). 4. Receive the below error message. The account computername1\username is chosen for migration, but the target does not have account computername2\username. See documentation on /lac, /lae, /ui, /ue and /uel options.
