Problems with SCCM v2007 with latest service pack doesn't work with DHCP
Help! We've tried to use SCCM in a test lab and in live environment, both "builds" seem to run without error but clients cannot obtain an IP address. I'm more concerned over the test lab at present (my thinking would be get that working, then live should work - the correct way of testing). Test lab as follows: Windows 2003 SP3 DC, latest service pack, also running DNS and DHCP. SCCM 2007 on 2003 server, latest service packs. This isn't on VMs, physical machines on one switch so no routing issues. Client is x86 with XP but doens't get PXE IP address so cannot go further. What are we missing? Note: Client with xp already installed, set to use DHCP gets IP and DNS settings from DC without problem so something in PXE that's the problem.

have you added any network drivers to your boot.wim files (both x86 and x64) for your client hardwares network card ? for sccm 2007 sp2 you need to be adding Windows 7 network drivers even though you are deploying windows xp, try that, redistribute the boot.wim files to the dp's and then try again cheers niall My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady

Does the initial PXE boot of a client (the first stage where it picks up an IP address) actually need client drivers? I thought the PXE part has it's own "driver" and just needs to find the DHCP server...this is the part that's failing.
