Problem with Windows 7 auto installer - on PC reboot fails to reconfigure windows. Has to revert to previous.
Hi, A couple of days ago my Windows 7 updater failed. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (Service Pack 1) in 64 bit mode. I tried to install the updates (screen shot shown below) manually via Control Panel. The installation of the updates was successful. When the PC reboots it complains about not being able to reconfigure Windows (I get a failed reconfiguration message) and the pc shuts down to reconfigure to previous state before updates were applied. Should I be concerned with this and assume Microsoft will fix their updates and eventually they will all install ? A previous run of diagnostics on the pc shows it as: Windows Product Key: *****-*****-4F8HK-M4P73-W8DQG Windows Product Key Hash: Xs1iQgVeo0C+sObJxS7eu+FuBPQ= Windows Product ID: 00359-OEM-8992687-00057 Windows Product ID Type: 2 Windows License Type: OEM SLP Windows OS version: 6.1.7601.2.00010300.1.0.003 Regards, Don.
