Problem in sharepoint document library
i have a document library in that i have created two folders.for one folder i have gave read only permission for one user.he is opening the document by click on the link he is doing some changes after that he is clicking save option in Microsoft word at that time that is showing file with the same name already exits and showing this file is ready only because he is having ready only permission. Again if he clicks on save button now if he gave different name for that document for saving that is going to be stored in document library. why it's happening here we have given ready only permission for user but user adding the forms to document library. How can i restrict the user without creating any document if the person having read only permission

you need to make sure that user does not have contributor permissions. If you are assigning just read only permissions, it will be great if you can put a screen shot here to show that document library has just read only permission to user etc.Moonis Tahir MVP, MCPD, MCSD.net, MCTS BizTalk 2006/SQL 2005/SharePoint Server 2007 (Dev & Config)

1. This is not a Programming question. Post questions in the correct forum and you will get quicker responses. 2. Never write in a post that your question is urgent. Everyone's questions here are urgent for them. Your question here is no more urgent than any other question here (and is less urgent than many of them) so do NOT write that a post is urgent and try in that way to push your post up the queue. 3. Stop writing "this is urgent" NOW or face the consequences.
