Problem creating new notification subscription.
I am responsible for the creation of new monitors in SCOM 2007 R2 and I am currently working on creating website monitors for all of our internal websites and a few external (for internet connectivity testing). I am able to create the web application monitors with no problem. The problem I have is creating the notification subscription for the web app monitors (actually just a new subscription in general). Channel and subscribers are set up correctly and the creation of subscriptions has worked flawlessly until now. I have outlined the steps taken to create the subscription and the error it generates below:In the Administration space: 1. Select Subscriptions and click New.2. Give the Subscription a name and description and click Next.3. I select any of the top three options (all others work fine): "raised by any instance in a specific group", "raised by and instance of a specific class", or "created by specific rules or monitors (e.g. sources)"4. (Here is where the error happens) In the criteria description, I select the underlined value to edit and the Notification Subscription Wizard terminates and gives the following error:"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."Additional information about the error shows the following:Date: 3/18/2010 12:00:11 PMApplication: System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2Application Version: 6.1.7221.0Severity: ErrorMessage: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. I have tried rebooting our RMS and DB servers but nothing changed. Still getting the error. Please help.

Hi, I'm experiencing the same problem, only on a Windows XP client (MUI). When running the console on the RMS, there is no problem ... it puzsles me Cheers, Arie de Haan This posting is provide "AS IS" with no guarantees, warranties, rigths etc.

If you have updated to OpsMgr 2007 R2 cumulative update 1, just make sure the console has been upgraded as well. Cheers GrahamView OpsMgr tips and tricks at http://systemcentersolutions.wordpress.com/

Does anybody now a fix for this issue. I have the exact same thing and it isn't limited to the Subscription PickerDialog as it happens for me anytime I use the internal PickerDialog UIs across the board. The funny thing is when I perform the steps from the RMS, no issues. When I perform it from a stand alone console I installed, blam, ugliness ensues. My entire environment has been updated all the way to R2CU1 and all console servers received the CU1 update as well (though it is hard to tell really if it took or not??). Server info: RMS - Win2k3 R2 (fully patched and updated) Console Server - Win2k3 SP2 (fully patched and updated)

I actually have a request for hotfix in with Microsoft right now regarding this issue. Haven't heard anything back yet though.
