Problem because of Merging FBA based accounts with AD account in MOSS.
Hi, We are using MOSS enterprise edition. We ran into a problem with user accounts. 1) All users have a domain account of the format mycompany\userlogin. 2)Our Application is using FBA (user accounts of the type myApp\username) , we did an export, import of the sites from this application to the MOSS site using AD without realising about the domain users issue. Many users are common to both applications. 3) Now all users of our Application using FBA are having two accounts - domain\username and , myApp\username in MOSS and tasks are assigned to both accounts. We need help in merging the accounts , stsadm -o migrateuser is failing because the other account already exists. Thanks, Kiran

I've personally never tried this but you might want to make sure you are using this switch in your STSADM command: -ignoresidhistory See if that works for you. Hi, If both domain\username and myApp\username are working fine, it will be ok to delete one of them using stsadm –o deleteuser. Note: backup your data before using this operation. Hope it is helpful! Seven
