Printing to multiple printers

Hello everyone,

Very new to SharePoint and definitely InfoPath.  We have a customer that has a InfoPath form published to SharePoint.  The form is a Menu for schools.  They stated that it use to print to multiple printers but now it don't - is this possible?

If it is would this have to be coded or can it be done through the menus?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi,

As I understand, you want to print to multiple printers in SharePoint 2010.

What do you mean Printing to multiple printers? Do the multiple printers print the InfoPath form in the same time? Or do you want to print the multiple viewers in the same time? Could you please provide more detailed information?

If you want to allow the users to print multiple views at once, you could use the Print Multiple Views dialog box. For more detailed information, you could refer to the article below.

The article below is about allowing users to print multiple views at once.

Thank you so very much for the reply Sara.

It is 4 different Printers at the same time.  Basically the administration office makes up the menu for the schools and then prints the form - when it prints they want it to print to 4 different school printers.  Again they said it worked before (we all hear this a lot I know), so we are just trying to verify we are not missing something.

Thanks!

Hi Willis,

As I understand, you want to print the InfoPath form by the 4 printers at the same time in SharePoint 2010.

Can the form be printed by one printer?

And you could check if there is printer button in the InfoPath form?

If there is no printer button, you could add the printer button in the form by adding the custom code.

For more detailed information, you could refer to the article below.

The article below is about SharePoint 2010 InfoPath Print Button.

Nothing listed has allowed us to print to 4 printers at the same time.  Still only printing to one.

Understand if no one can answer but question has not been answered.

I could see this being done in a coded InfoPath form via VSTA, however, I am not aware of any action, rule or control in InfoPath that would allow such a thing. Check the form options via the menu, see if the Programming tab/menu shows any code for the form.

If it is not an administrator approved form template it has no code. In any case I think it is a weird request from them. If it was printing to the printers (four of them at the same time) before, then the code for that in the form, if any, would not have changed.

What would have changed is the printers and their names....if it really did work that way before, the problem is with the printers or the network, not the form necessarily though if there is code to update, you would have to update the printer string, however; if there is no code, then I think this is an imagined feature that they think worked this way when it did not in fact.
